Following last week’s deep dive on the potential fate of Trump’s criminal case, we’re pleased to bring you an in-depth conversation with a deeply insightful political thinker whose work we’ve long kept up with. We’ve been looking forward to sitting down with Norman Finkelstein to discuss his advocacy for the pro-Palestine movement, his own political journey, his assessment of the state of the American left, and much more.
The author of eight books and a former professor of political theory, Finkelstein was denied tenure at DePaul University following a highly public back-and-forth with Alan Dershowitz, whose work he strongly criticized. Given the airtime expended on mainstream American media over the supposed silencing of conservatives, and the comparative lack of coverage of the professional consequences faced by leftists who voice critiques of Israeli policy toward Palestinians, we want to hear from Norm about whether he’s noticed changes in the responses to and struggles faced by the pro-Palestine movement in the U.S. and abroad.
