We’re joined this week by two progressive populists who have made their own waves in independent media, bringing their listeners to the cutting edge of leftist conversation with some of the movement’s most notable figures. For their show, The Vanguard, Zac and Gavin have interviewed everyone from our very own Kyle Kulinski to Noam Chomsky and Jesse Ventura. They also cover a lot of contemporary debates within left media and developments in American politics, showing not only what issues are at the forefronts of our minds, but also how they’re being covered and presented by leftist political commentators.

And we’ve got a lot to cover with Zac and Gavin this week. We’re excited to hear their takes on the landscape of independent left media right now — through upheavals like #ForceTheVote and the aftermath of the Sanders campaign, there’s been a proliferation of new YouTube channels, podcasts, and programs on other platforms for leftists to take note of. As the videos from The Vanguard’s channel show, these commentators can collaborate in breaking stories and sharing ideas that mainstream news outlets refuse to give air time; their relationships can also be contentious, and Zac and Gavin can share their own perspective from the unique platform they’ve built.
