This week’s guest on Krystal Kyle & Friends is Amy Vilela. Amy is a champion of policies like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, and her advocacy has brought her from Bernie 2020’s massive Nevada caucus victory to her own run for Congress as a progressive Democrat in Nevada’s First District. We’re thrilled to take this opportunity to speak to a leftist candidate whose personal knowledge of the inequality and injustice in this country has led her to bring her vision of justice to a congressional race.

Among the policies Amy plans to fight for in office are the construction of social housing, a just transition for fossil-fuel workers under a Green New Deal, ending cash bail, and more. Like Bernie Sanders in his 2020 housing platform, she’s calling for a homes guarantee for a 2025 end to homelessness, an issue woefully unaddressed in liberal political circles (and cruelly weaponized by conservatives in political discourse). We hope you’ll look forward to hearing from Amy about how her progressive agenda will fit into the political terrain of Congress, what her experience as a leftist candidate has been, and what’s coming down the road for her campaign. Paying subscribers can join us Friday for the video conversation; everyone else can listen for free on Saturday, when audio will be available on Substack, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Podcasts, and more.

Leftist? Lmfao She’s, at best, a Social Democrat vying to represent a Liberal-Conservative party. How can you describe anyone involved with the mainstream politics of the Democrats a “Leftist”? You’re either being disingenuous or you don’t know what being a “Leftist” means. C’mon, you’re not stupid, you are aware of these things, why do it?
