Leftist electeds? Where? There are no Leftists elected, and even Nina Turner is only a social Democrat. “Leftist” and “Socialist” are more than just words. Everywhere else in the world they are anyway. Turner, AOC, Sanders and the rest of them are TO the left of the other Dems & GOP, but they aren’t ON “The Left”. By anyone’s reckoning, those who know a thing or two about politics that is, the “electeds” you speak of are Centrists. Actual centrists, not the pretend ones that are really Conservatives. They align pretty much with politicians such as Tony Blair, ex British Prime Minister. Yes, he supported the NHS, & Welfare etc. But he never did anything more substantive than tinkering around the edges of the casino capitalism so beloved of neoliberals. Apart from the odd tweet or sound bite, neither do the electeds you speak of. On the political scale - the real one - they are all centrists. Social Democracy IS centrism.
