Katie Halper has graced Krystal Kyle & Friends with her presence on several occasions, and we’re calling her back to the show to discuss the weaponization of antisemitism in Israel, the United States, and across the world during the ongoing Israeli genocide of Palestinians.
“Were there no Israel, there wouldn’t be a Jew in the world that is safe,” said our president Joe Biden at the White House Hanukkah party this week. The United States has one of the biggest Jewish populations in the world — with over six million Jewish Americans — so that this statement, an abdication of Biden’s own responsibility to protect Jewish people in the country he leads, carries the true sentiment of antisemitism at the same time that it purports to advance Zionist ideology in the interest of Jewish people. As Katie has pointed out on Twitter and elsewhere, the weaponization of Zionism and of accusations of antisemitism has resulted in real oppression of Jewish people attempting to reject Zionism on moral and political grounds. Jewish Voice for Peace has been named a hate group by the ADL, silencing the opposition of apartheid and genocide by Jewish people who reject the violence being done in their name. How does this weaponization work, and how can it be opposed?
