Happy Week 200 of KK&F! To those who have been here with us from the beginning and to those who have just discovered the podcast — we’re thrilled to have you with us as we ask our heroes, adversaries, colleagues, and co-conspirators to help us make sense of this truly unprecedented political moment. And it feels more unprecedented than ever. As we stare down the barrel of another four years of Trump, it’ll be easy for the left to alienate itself, to become hopeless and atomized as Trump’s cronies do their worst in terms of destroying our social welfare programs (insofar as they exist) and putting people in danger just for trying to live their lives peacefully. Needless to say, unity and purpose among leftists seem more essential than ever. Luckily, we’re not an island — there are international examples of leftist success to which we can turn.
For our two hundredth episode, we’re having special guest Juan David Rojas, a specialist on political economy and a columnist for Compact magazine, on the show to analyze the precedent set in Mexico, first by AMLO and now by Claudia Sheinbaum. The US’s southern neighbor has an amazing example of leftist electoral victory to offer, and we want to consider both how this took place and how the Trump years will affect the relationship between the US and Mexico. It’s sure to be a fascinating, insightful conversation, and we hope you’ll tune in!

We need to pull Tim Walz over to the Progressive movement. He has actually ACCOMPLISHED progressive policies. And the corporatist Dems already propped him up and proved how popular he can be (and then hid him just in time for Kamala to lose the election).
We need to get him on OUR team for the next primaries. There is no hopeful candidate out there right now other than him.
Let’s start NOW
Mexico is not only country in world where ruling party survive after covid elections.
