I was less to the left then, I remember, and I do think it had this effect on a lot of people, if only because it got people talking about stuff they hadn't considered before. I remember specifically (among many other things) reading something someone posted about why means testing is bad, then flipping like a pancake on that issue. That issue, btw, is a keystone in the idea of solidarity. Maybe let's all talk about that more!
