This Friday’s guests on Krystal Kyle & Friends will offer us some devastating, much-needed insight into the 2008 financial crisis — taking a careful look at the system that allowed the financial industry to destroy the stability, homes, and livelihoods of countless Americans. But it’s also a hard look at the present moment, investigating how the working class continues to struggle and suffer in the name of profit for big banks, even during the age of COVID-19.
Patrick Lovell and Eric Vaughan are the creators of The Con, a five-part docuseries that releases today, September 21 (you can watch a trailer here). As in the documentary, they will be answering our big questions about how the greed of the financial industry laid the groundwork for housing instability long after 2008, what happens when Wall Street is given free rein to loot the 99 percent, and about the conditions that led to the 2008 crash. After all, The Con treats the crash not as an isolated incident but as “the inevitable conclusion to 40 years of Wall Street misconduct,” as per film reviewer Mike Kaspar in a recent interview with Lovell.
We hope you’re looking forward to Vaughan and Lovell’s insight into this key moment of class struggle in recent history. Paid subscribers can join us at 9pm on Friday night for video of the interview on Substack. Then it’ll be available to everyone through Substack, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Podcasts, and more on Saturday evening. Thanks for joining us!
Sorry guys I'm gonna have to unsub. Keeps telling me to sub when I'm already subbed so it won't even let me do it again. It's every week with substack and takes me longer to fidget with it then the video actually goes. So I'm just gonna wait til substack is significantly better. Breaking points doesn't have this issue. So it's gotta be substacks problem. Hopefully they get it fixed. Sorry guys.
Watched the 'The Con' trailer and it made my day. Trailer ->> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pnbq824yu38. I can hardly wait for more.
