I've lived in California since I was 2 years old. Thanks to my dual citizenship I was able to vote in Mexican elections for the first time this year. I voted for Claudia Sheinbaum. The first woman president of Mexico. I am hopeful that she will not only continue, but expand the economic and social reforms and policies put in place by AMLO and the MORENA Party. He started this party in 2012 and by 2018 he won the presidency. This had been his third attempt. In my opinion, he was not on the right side of every issue. I feel that most Mexican voters felt the same. What he did do with the support of his people was lift over 5 million Mexicans out of extreme poverty and gave a voice to the native people. There is no re-election option in Mexico, that is why I hope Claudia expands and goes even further. She is a scientist with her specialty being in renewable energy. She has given hope to all Mexicans that there is a better future ahead. Claudia has embraced the struggles of women and for that, and the promise to continue the path of AMLO the voters elected her in all but, ONE state. This was unbelievable especially considering all the pressure from the right. The PRI and PAN parties morphed into the PRIAN and of course heavily supported by the Catholic Church, and pro US spanish media such as Televisa, TV Azteca Univision and Telemundo. I'm glad the Mexican people finally woke up and realized who the real problem was. The parties that had been in power for almost 100 years and had sold out to the millionaires. Wake up America! If AMLO could do it over there we can do it here too.
