Another book of Thomas Frank's that I don't hear much talk about is "Rendezvous with Oblivion." It explains how & why college is SO expensive now (as opposed to when myself & Thomas were college freshman in the mid 80s). It's a great short read, but it's also an example of how everything in Americans' lives has to be turned into a Ponzi scheme.
LOVE Krystal & Kyle together! Can't wait for Nina Turner interview!
I respect Thomas Frank I'm listening to listen liberal but he had some truly awful stances on Obama, jailed more whistle blowers than any other President by a factor of 7, deported more immigrants than every President combined and some many others, and Fauci who lied about masks in the beginning of the pandemic. Krystal and Kyle share the same sentiments on their shows,
Good show! If only the Democratic elites had read Thomas Frank’s books prior to the last two presidential campaigns. (I did.) My Wish List for your upcoming podcasts: Joseph Stiglitz and Jon Stewart. Great guests so far!
What if the Rs put forth someone like a non-imperialist TR? He was the 1st president to advocate for universal health care, and along with an anti-monopoly, anti-censorship platform targeted to help working people, well I can tell you I'd vote for that. Hell, it's less of a pipe dream than Biden doing the most basic things, beginning with $2000 checks. I risk being sarcastic by commenting that if Biden had spoken about his covid relief plans before 1/6, there might have been lefties cheerleading the the rioters, just saying...
Great interviewers, great show...I don't know if Joe Rogan does guest slots but I hope they'll have him on at some point. This show's thoughtful dialogue is so needed right now. And I just got the new Thomas Frank book. I read 'What's the Matter With Kansas' years ago and along with Matt Taiibi he's my favorite writer(s).
I love, that they largely, let their guest speak.
My FAVORITE author! If anyone hasn't read Listen Liberal, do that right away!

An outstanding interview !! Thanks. And -- on the same day as Chris Hodges on Jimmy Dore. Both were masterpieces and -- deeply concerning....
Thanks for this!
thank you

I started reading WTMWK, one of my favorite books and has definitely shaped my political awakening
Kyle, great question about class and culture minute 33
Thomas Frank shows you how history has been written by a sector of the upper class who wanted to keep regular people inside a bubble of conformity
Great stuff, thanks for what you guys do.
