Welcome back to KK&F. Ryan Grim has joined us before to discuss the strategies and missteps of the Biden admin. He’s returning to the show this week as violence rages on in Gaza, Palestinians whose families have been murdered by Israel raise a lawsuit against President Biden, and members of Congress feel increasing pressure from their constituents to back a ceasefire. All this, of course, takes place as Biden gears up to run for re-election next year. His numbers among young people, who overwhelmingly support a ceasefire and an end to Israeli violence in Palestine, aren’t looking good at the moment, and it’s hard to isolate this dip in public support from the administration’s undemocratic refusal to support the survival of the Palestinian people.
We’re excited to hear from Ryan about his forthcoming book, The Squad: AOC and the Hope of a Political Revolution. Ryan’s topic — of great interest to us on KK&F, and, we think, to you, too — is the formation and development of the progressive Squad, providing fresh inside reporting on the group’s political activity over the past few years and considering how it’s evolved (including through AIPAC’s attempts to crush them and any others who dissent on Israel/Palestine). Tune in this weekend to hear our conversation with Ryan about what the conflict in Gaza means for the Biden administration, how its reaction will factor into next year’s election, and much more. Paying subscribers can tune in Friday for the video conversation, released on Substack. Everyone else, tune in Saturday night through Pandora, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
I must say that I think “Genocide Joe” is way over the top. We should be at the point of understanding the importance of criticizing without demonizing. I doubt you have ever said anything this damning about Trump.
