"There's a deeper problem here, which is that so much of what we call leftism in America isn't about building a movement. It's about being right. People like to be morally right, and they're not really interested in building a movement. As a result, we have a liberalism of scolding, where it's all about being more righteous than others, and informing them constantly of how wrong they are, when what it should be about is building a mass movement, recruiting millions of people to the cause, and getting things done — changing the world. That's what Populism was..."

"...the temptation of left-wing movements is always to celebrate individual righteousness, and to celebrate the purity of your particular stance or your vision. But that's not how you build a movement. It might be satisfying to individuals, but the way you build a movement is by practicing ideological patience. You have to suspend judgment toward ordinary people because they didn't go to graduate school or learn the jargon. They're not going to be up to speed yet. The idea of a movement is to bring people into the movement and build consciousness. But to demand it already is a recipe for disaster. That's a lesson that Goodwin associates with populism. We really need to learn that lesson."

This is on point. I'm unfamiliar with Thomas Frank but am very much looking forward to the interview. Keep up the great work!

hmm -- The Democratic Party is a dictatorship of oligarchs, of billionaire donors and arm and intelligence industry interests -- nothing that benefits the public in a meaningful way is relevant to it, nor can we ever expect any honesty or transparency over vital issues.

By far the highest interest and priority of new government and the DNC cabal is that Russia-gate immense hoax will NOT be exposed -- hence many IOU's to primary propagandists, including Hillary's protégé Kamala Harris, Neera Tanden, Pete Buttigieg, etc.

The by now 4+ year Russia-gate is a scam of the century. Without resolving and clarifying that, Democrat party is -- a walking dead; no place for populism in it. The Russia-gate hoax and Ukraine-impeachment “entertainment” was concocted by Obama/Hillary/Biden/Pelosi, Schumer, etc. (the incoming lying team of oligarchs) and their intelligence and DNC executives on behalf of their Wall Street and military industry donors.

Thank you. Coverage appears to match your predictions. Little to no examination of the whys, lots of blame and outrage. I read one reporter who asked one of the men why he was there and the reply was a shrug and "Hey, I had nothin' else goin' on." We can't afford to waste lives like that.
